Geek Wallets - New in this week

So if you’re here in the UK its Father’s Day this Sunday! With that in mind we thought that this weeks new stock had better be something for those geek dads in our lives.
So we’ve brought in a selection of comic wallets, as well as restocked some of our best sellers that had sold out before. My husband has never been the easiest person to buy for, he likes his comic book stuff, he’s into his x-box, and is pretty much a geek, but also he is (like many many other geek men his age) a young professional. He is smart, stylish and likes the finer things in life.
Until recently I had always found that when I looked for things for him they were either too boring and grown up, or too… child like? Don’t get my wrong, I LOVE that comics are marketing to children, start them young I say! Our 2 year old daughter has many a geeky toy, but that means if I wanted to find batman things they were a bit too… cartoony. Not suitable for my man!
So whenever I am buying in licensed products for men (and whenever I’m making them too might I add) he is always the customer I have in mind. So without further delay, here are my selection of top 9 mens geek wallets all in stock and ready to ship (1st class royal mail in the uk). Smart, stylish, usable, and most importantly geeky wallets.

Geek Cushions - new in this week

This week we've been working on cushions, and boy oh boy have we gone mad!!

I had a bit of a spending spree on some amazing new fabrics, and I love cushions, I love how fast they come together, how great they look and how huggably squishy they are. I mean really, I am one of those people where you have to take 15 cushions off the bed before you can get into it! I have cushions in my car, I have cushions in my office. I LOVE CUSHION!

Obviously though, I'm also a total geek so need my cushions to be suitably geeky. So that's what I'm bringing you this week!

For all our our Geek cushions check out Kitsch Bits. Here's a sneaky peaky at what's in store though!

Virgin Media Pioneers Lincoln Pitch Winner - Press Release

The Virgin Media Pioneers - Championing Undiscovered Talent

On Wednesday 25th September 2013 The Virgin Media Pioneers invited entrepreneurs from across the East Midlands into the pitching room with Dragons’ Den success story Andrew Harsley, and Virgin Media Pioneers Regional Ambassador, Michael Overton.

Lincoln based entrepreneur Gemma Kett, founder of Kitsch Bits was awarded first place for geek boutique business idea.

"I started the business because as a women with a strong interest in comics and geek culture, but also a passion for fashion, I could never find clothing and accessories that suited my personality. It's fantastic to have it affirmed that I am not the only one out there and clearly there is a market for geek and comic products for stylish adults"
Says Gemma Kett, founder of Kitsch Bits

Kitsch Bits sell a range of products from Dresses to Coasters all with 1 major things in common, they are all inspired by the geek and comic culture. Although Gemma started as a one woman business, making all of the products herself she has quickly had to adapt to growing demand and now works with other local businesses including a seamstress, artists and a t-shirt printer.

Participants in The Lincoln Pitch were invited to attend an exclusive awards ceremony and networking event at Lincoln University Business and Law building in the evening, featuring expert speakers Shaun Cole, Creative Director at Ideafuel and Phil Kelsey, Managing Director of Spiral Media. This is where the winner and runners up were announced, and prizes were given.

As first place winner, Gemma received £500, an iPad mini and mentoring services of a local businessman.

"I'm overwhelmed" said Gemma on receiving her award, "any cash injection during my first year is hugely appreciated, and it will go straight into more fabric! and perhaps the iPad mini could be passed on to my husband to keep him entertained while I work endless nights ignorning him and taking over the PC!"

Gemma added that the help of a mentor will be invaluable as that of a sounding board when making decisions about the future of Kitsch Bits, and building it into the empire that endless people agree it could be.
